As you may be aware, strings wear down from play and subsequently lose their tension and resilience. If left too long, it can negatively affect your performance, comfort, and feel. However, knowing why it’s essential to restring is only half the battle.

Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Coco Back at it Again
At last year’s Wimbledon, Coco Gauff set the tennis world on fire, defeating Venus Williams in the first round and fighting her way to the round of 16 before being stopped by Simona Halep. It was almost too good to be true that we’d get another first-round matchup between Coco and Venus, and the 15-year-old didn’t disappoint with another straight-sets victory.
Now in the third round, she’s taken out world #4, Naomi Osaka, in a convincing 6-3, 6-4 defeat. It’s incredible what she’s accomplished, and we can’t wait for her next round.
Spoiler Alert: Serena Williams and Carolina Wozniacki have been knocked out of the tournament. The latter puts an end to Wozniacki’s impressive career.
