I’m a tennis beginner, joined a club, been playing for about 2 months. Got my forehand and backhand down, could hit pretty accurate shots with a lot of power/speed with decent spin, but recently I was told by another fellow club member that I should bend my wrist further back when hitting forehand shots for more spin, I have seen basically every pro player do this, but never figured out why. I gave it a try but I just ended up feeling very unnatural when opening and hitting, and my shots were either going into the net or to the sky. Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal? Should I keep doing this till my shots are decent?
P.S My forehand is very normal, with my wrist bent about 30 degrees when hitting shots, pro players bend about 80 degrees.
