Five Point Friday
Before jumping in, I wanted to let you know I’ll be taking off the next two weeks to spend time with family, so this will be my last Five Point Friday email of 2021. I’ll pick things back up on Friday, January 7, 2022, and I hope you have a happy New Year!
Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Asics Gel Resolution 8 [Review]
In my latest review, I explore the Asics Gel Resolution 8. The video covers all the essential details players need to determine if they’re worthy of their hard-earned money, from features and tech to fit, sizing, and on-court performance. Enjoy!
2.) Aerial View of Iconic Court
The Goldstein Residence is an iconic home in the hills of Los Angeles, which has a thoroughly impressive tennis court built on the roof overlooking the city. I’ve seen the court several times but have never caught a zoomed-out aerial view showcasing the property, which is stunning. Tennis anyone?

3.) Vote WTA Shot of the Year
Voting for the WTA singles and doubles shots of the year is open. Check out the videos, cast your vote, and then see who’s in the lead.
4.) Antarctica Tennis Exhibition
John and Patrick McEnroe will set sail on the super luxurious World Navigator cruise ship toward the end of February. Along with fewer than 200 guests, they’ll travel from Argentina to the Antarctic Peninsula, and along the way, John and Patrick will play an exhibition match. Sound like fun? Tickets start at a whopping $15k per person.
5.) SwingVision Tennis App
If you’re into apps and tech, you should check out SwingVision. It’s not a new app, but it’s one of the best out there, and I’m continually impressed by what it offers. From real-time shot tracking to video analysis and line challenges, it’s the perfect companion for the court. Right now, it’s only available for Apple products, but they expect to expand to Android in 2022.
P.S. – Did you know I recently launched a custom racquet vibration dampener? I’d love you to check it out and let me know what you think. Learn more about dampeners here.
