Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Federer’s Franc
The Swissmint is honoring Roger Federer by making him the first living person to be recognized with a commemorative coin. The 20-franc silver coin sold out within a day. Demand was so high it crashed the Swissmint’s website.
Want a coin but missed the opportunity? The Swissmint noted that another run of 40,000 coins might release if demand exceeds the first run – I think that’s a sure bet. Plus, there’s a gold coin in the works too.
At 31years old, Spanish tennis player Carla Suarez Navarro, announced she’ll be retiring from tennis at the end of the 2020 season. With two titles to her name, a career-high ranking of 6 during the 2016 season, and $11.58 million in career prize money, it’s safe to say she’s had a good run.
The award for Comeback Player of the Year will go to the player who has overcome injury and re-established themselves as one of the top players in the game. This year, Andy Murray, Andrey Rublev, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Stan Wawrinka are the nominees.
Who’s your pick? We’d love to hear in the discussion boards.
