Five Point Friday

Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.

1.) Yonex VCORE 98 [Review]

Last month, Yonex released the sixth generation of the VCORE 98, a racquet that delivers balanced all-court performance with an emphasis on spin and controllable power. In my latest video, I dive deep to explore this frame’s specs, features, and design while putting it to the test on the court to share my experience.

2.) Hall of Fame Inductions

On July 17, 2021, the Original 9 will become the first group ever to be inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame along with Lleyton Hewitt and influential coach Dennis Van der Meer.

3.) No Place for Impossible

Despite massive obstacles to run the Australian Open, Australia successfully completed the tournament with plenty of memorable tennis. To recap the event, organizers put together an excellent short film.

4.) America’s Top Coach

Do you have a tennis coach who has made a significant and positive impact on you and those around them? Tennis Channel wants to know about them. Now through March 14th, anyone can nominate an individual as America’s Top Coach.

5.) Noteworthy Injury Updates

Nadal managed to play through his back injury while in Australia but has since decided to opt-out of his next scheduled tournament in Rotterdam on advice from his doctor back in Spain. Meanwhile, world #29 Donna Vekic revealed she underwent right knee surgery this week. She said rehab had begun but didn’t share when she expected to be back on the court.

If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
