Five Point Friday
Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Racquet Stiffness Explained
The stiffness or flex of a tennis racquet can be a tricky subject that I’m frequently asked to help clarify. In this week’s video, I provide a clear explanation of the topic, which is helpful to understand when comparing tennis racquets or dealing with arm injuries such as tennis elbow.
2.) Hubert Hurkacz’s Crazy Tweener
During his match at the Altec/Styslinger Foundation Exhibition in Miami, Hurkacz hit a jumping tweener on the run for what some are claiming to be the best shot of the year. Would you agree?

3.) Coco Gauff: The Lines Are The Same
During this one-hour docufilm, Chris Fowler from ESPN sits down with Coco Gauff to discuss her meteoric rise in the tennis world, which began last year after she defeated Venus Williams 6-4, 6-4 in the first round at Wimbledon.
4.) World Team Tennis: 7/12 – 8/2
More live tennis is headed your way with WTT, which features a solid lineup of players including Venus Williams, Frances Tiafoe, Victoria Azarenka, John Isner, the Bryan Brothers, and more. The event will broadcast 66 matches taking place in White Sulfur Springs, West Virginia, with plenty of places to catch the action.
5.) Wimbledon’s Sweet Strawberries
More than 26,000 strawberries were ready for Wimbledon’s famous strawberries and cream this year. However, with the tournament’s cancellation, they’re donating them to the National Health Service and frontline workers in London as a gesture of appreciation.
If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
