Five Point Friday

Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.

1.) Thiem Breaks Into Top 3

Dominic Thiem rose to a career-high ranking of #3 in the world this week, which is the first time Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic haven’t held the top three positions since May 6, 2019.

2.) Djokovic Splits Like Spidey

Djokovic’s athleticism is out of this world, and during his semi-final Dubai match against Monfils, he gave us a sharp reminder. On the run, he stretched for a forehand and fell into a split, which inspired comparisons to Spiderman.

3.) Murray Back Practicing Again

Andy returned to the practice court this week after having taken time off to heal from an uncomfortable bone growth associated with his last surgery. The practice appears to have gone well, and he may accept a wild card into the Miami Open, which begins March 25th.

4.) Six Year Old’s Backhand

At only six years old, Ethan shows off his impressive one-handed backhand drawing astonishment from fans and comparisons to players like Federer.

5.) Exceptional Dimitrov Return

During his semi-final match against Stan Wawrinka, Grigor Dimitrov hit a perfectly placed backhand return down the line that’s worth a quick replay.
