Five Point Friday
Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Roger Federer’s Shoes [Review]
The Nike Air Zoom Vapor X is one of the most popular tennis shoes worn by Roger Federer and many other top pros. This week, I took to the court to review the Vapor X and share my thoughts.
2.) No Court. No Problem.
Stuck at home for obvious reasons, world #589, Arthur Reymond of France, reconstructed his neighbor’s clay court with his father so he could continue training. The transformation is pretty impressive.

3.) Only Player to Beat Big 3 In a Row
Did you know there’s only one player who’s defeated Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic consecutively to win a tournament? Relive the historic 2007 run with Argentina’s David Nalbandian.
4.) Opelka Wins UTR Pro Series
In the first US broadcast of tennis since COVID-19 shut down the sport, world #39 Reilly Opelka defeated #47 Miomir Kecmanovic 4-3, 2-4, 4-2. If you missed it and you’re curious how the match series was staged, you can watch it on demand.

5.) Mental Skills with Dr. Lauer
Dr. Larry Lauer is a mental skills specialist at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL, who works with elite juniors and pros to improve their mindsets. He caught up with the Tennis.com Podcast to talk about mental skills, including how to change your perception of failure.
If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
