Five Point Friday

Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.

1.) LOVE in Tennis

Do you know the origin of the term love in tennis? This week, I went back to the basics and took a few minutes to explore one of our game’s most unique point values in a new video I recorded.

2.) Serena’s Backyard Tennis Match

Tennis might slowly be returning for some, but most of the world’s top pros are still at home. Serena had some fun recording a silly backyard tennis match with none other than… herself.

3.) Holding Court [New Podcast]

After having tested positive for coronavirus, Patrick McEnroe, spent quite a bit of time isolated in his basement while he recovered. With mild symptoms and time on his hands, he decided now was the right time to kick off a podcast he had always wanted to host. It focuses on celebrity guests who have an affinity for the sport of tennis.

4.) Anatomy of Sponsorship Deals

Free gear that brands pay you to wear on the tennis court. What’s not to love about sponsorship deals? For a handful of world’s top players, getting sponsored can be lucrative. However, for the majority of tennis players, it’s not that simple.

5.) Federer’s Skill & Touch

Federer’s game has it all, and his sense of touch is truly unique. Relive some of his most incredible moments on the court over the years.

If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
