Five Point Friday
Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Tsitsipas ATP Final Win
In 2018, Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Alex de Minaur in the Next Gen ATP Finals to become the champion.
This year, he qualified for the main draw as the youngest player in the top 10 and defeated Dominic Thiem in a tight three-set match to take home the big boy’s title.
2.) Hall of Fame’s Digital Museum
This week, the Tennis Hall of Fame launched a new digital exhibit called Smash Hit: The Evolution of the Tennis Racquet, which is a curated display that illustrates the evolution of the tennis racquet through time.
The exhibit features the Hall of Fame’s extensive collection of racquets and memorabilia to tell a unique story and is well worth taking some time to enjoy.
3.) Robots Play Tennis
Cinebots are a unique breed of finely tuned robots for filming incredible cinematography. In fact, they’re so accurate, the team behind these robots set out to program two of them to play tennis.
While the tennis produced by the robots isn’t exactly thrilling, it’s impressive and a unique scene to check out.
4.) Federer & Zverev’s Dream Tour
Fresh off the ATP Finals, Roger and Alexander Zverev hopped on a jet to play five exhibition matches across Latin America and Mexico. Here’s their schedule:
- 11/19 – Santiago, Chili
- 11/20 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
- 11/22 – Bogota, Colombia
- 11/23 – Mexico City, Mexico
- 11/24 – Quito, Ecuador
Today, they’ll face off in Colombia.

5.) Davis Cup Quarters
The Davis Cup Finals are in full swing – the early round-robin phase is complete with the quarter-finals contenders set. Canada is now into the semis having defeated Australia.
For a small fee, you can catch the rest of the Davis Cup action through Rakuten Sports.
If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
