Here’s a brief video where I share an up-close view of the Wilson Pro Feel’s design, including how to install it.

Design

A Front View Of The Wilson Pro Feel

The Wilson Pro Feel is available in two options: a circle with Wilson’s iconic “W” printed on it and another in the shape of the “W.” Although I’ve used both, this review focuses on the circular version.

The dampener has several color schemes, each designed to match their popular racquet lines, including Pro Staff, Blade, Ultra, and Clash. If you inspect it closely, you’ll also notice a fine ridge or outline along its edge.

Its diameter is 23.2 mm, and it’s relatively thin at only 8.8 mm thick. As a result, it’s lightweight at 2.9 grams, providing minimal vibration-dampening material with limited impact on your racquet’s specs.

Although not visible from the outside, it features a square core, which the strings press against to hold it in place and ensure the logo remains upright while playing, regardless of your swing’s impact.

Pros Cons
Lightweight Susceptible to falling out
Easy to install Not ideal for oversized racquet heads
Fits most string patterns Loud branding
Reduces audible ping
Low impact to feel

Fit & Installation

Wilson Pro Feel Dampener Installed In a Racquet

I found the Pro Feel to install quickly and easily on several racquets and head sizes I tested. However, it has a slightly larger profile and firmer material, so it takes a bit more finger pressure to set it in place.

With such a snug fit, the upside is that this dampener is less likely to fall out once installed, especially within a racquet with a tighter string pattern. It’s also worth noting that since the strings contact the dampener’s core, it maintains its circular shape once installed.

Performance

A Side View Of The Wilson Pro Feel

I found the Pro Feel dampener subtly minimized the ping sound of my racquet when hitting, but I could still hear some mild audible noise coming from the strings. I attribute this primarily to its lighter weight, meaning there’s less material to absorb vibration.

As a result, I found Wilson’s dampener to provide a gentle influence on my racquet’s feel, allowing more responsive feedback to reach my hand for a more direct, connected sensation when hitting.

Downsides

Weighing the The Wilson Pro Feel Vibration Dampener On a Digital Scale

Although the Pro Feel dampener offers a relatively secure fit due to its slightly wider footprint, I find it more inclined to come loose, as little beyond the pressure of the strings keeps it fixed in place.

During my testing, it fell out on a few occasions, and although I could track it down and reinstall it, it was distracting because it happened while playing, changing the feel of my racquet mid-point.

Beyond that, Wilson is eager to emphasize its branding on the dampeners, which, while understandable, limits my willingness to use them on non-Wilson racquets, as I prefer understated designs.

Test Summary

Measuring The Size Of The Wilson Pro Feel With Digital Calipers

The Wilson Pro Feel dampener is a lightweight, no-frills vibration dampener that offers a minimal reduction in the ping of my racquet and a nominal impact on feel to maintain maximum feedback.
