Five Point Friday
Here’s your roundup of the five most interesting things I’m enjoying or thinking about this week.
1.) Wozniacki’s Retirement
At 29 years old, Caroline Wozniacki has announced she’ll be retiring after nearly 15 years as a pro. With 30 titles to her name, including the 2018 Australian Open, and a 71-week stint at world #1, she’s had an incredible career.
Her retirement will come after the 2020 Australian Open and will close with an exhibition match against Serena Williams at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen on May 18, 2020.
2.) 2019’s Best Trick Shots
Relive some of the year’s best trick shots from players like Gaël Monfils, Roger Federer, Nick Kyrigos, Benoît Paire, Dominic Thiem, Frances Tiafoe, and more!
3.) Players of the Decade
As we close out the year, Tennis Channel has selected Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic as the two players that have defined a decade worth of tennis. Check out the full write-ups to back up their picks.

4.) Advice from Sampras’ Coach
Former ATP pro and coach, Paul Annacone, has been lucky enough to work with some of the world’s top players including, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Sloane Stephens, and most recently, Taylor Fritz.
In Tennis.com’s podcast with Paul, he talks about his experiences coaching and how belief sets the best players apart from the rest. It’s well worth a listen.

5.) Rare Golden Match in Doha
There’s a reason golden matches, where a player wins 48 straight points, don’t happen very often in professional tennis. However, Thailand’s Kritten Koaykul did just that when he defeated Artem Bahmen 6-0, 6-0, in the first round of qualifying in Doha, Qatar.
The match went viral because of how painfully inadequate Bahmen’s skills were for a professional setting. You’ll have to see it to believe it.
If you have a moment, I’d love to hear your feedback. Which topic is your favorite? What would you like to see more or less of each week?
