Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Prize Money
2023 Breakdown & Historicals
The Dubai Duty Free Championships is one of thirteen ATP 500 tournaments, which takes place yearly in Dubai, the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates.
Held at the Aviation Club, this hard court tournament debuted in 1993 as an ATP 250 series until the ATP upgraded the event in 2001. That same year, the WTA tournament premiered, and it now alternates annually between a WTA 500 and WTA 1000 level event.
ATP
For 2023, the total prize money for the ATP tournament is $2,855,495, equal to €2,694,216 and £2,390,192, representing a slight 2% increase compared to the prior year.
In singles, the men’s champion will take home $533,990, while the runner-up will receive a check for $287,320, each sum just shy of a 2% bump over 2022.
In doubles, the winning team will split $175,400, while the runner-up pair will share $93,550, each a 2% improvement over last year.
WTA
This year, the WTA event is a 1000 series tournament with total prize money of $2,788,468, translating to €2,631,058 and £2,333,640, for an impressive 263% increase compared to the prior year. However, remember, the tournament alternates between a 500 and 1000-level event, so prize money fluctuates quite a bit each year.
The lady’s singles champion will pocket $454,500 for winning the tournament, while the runner-up will earn $267,690. As far as increases go, these are 336% and 313% bumps, respectively.
In doubles, the winners of the WTA event will share $133,840, while their competitors will get to split $75,288. Although these are substantial 270% and 242% bumps compared to 2022, they lag compared to singles.

2023 Full Breakdown
Like other ATP tournaments, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships doesn’t distribute prize money equally between singles in doubles. Instead, roughly 80% of the prize money goes to singles, and the remaining 20% goes to doubles.
The tables below summarize how prize money breaks down per round for singles and doubles, with sums becoming more lucrative in the later rounds of the tournament. As you review the data, please note you can scroll left or right to view numbers for prior years.

Prize Money by Year
Every year, tournament officials adjust prize money. Often, you’ll see increases, but that’s not always the case at every tournament, as revenue heavily influences the size of the purse each year.
Critical drivers of revenue include ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise, and concessions, so the success of the prior year’s tournament heavily influences prize money.
Impressively, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships has only lowered prize money once since 2000 on the men’s side, but there have been seven years where prize money remained flat.
The following table outlines historical ATP prize money for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, starting in 2000.
