Hosted annually on the Mediterranean coast in Marseille, France, the Open 13 Provence is an ATP 250 tournament played on hard courts at the Palais des sports de Marseille, a multi-purpose arena.

The event is one of five French tournaments on the ATP calendar, including the Roland Garros, the Open Sud de France, the Moselle Open, and the Lyon Open.

Since its first edition in 1993, the tournament has had six French champions, including Guy Forget, Fabrice Santoro, Arnaud Clement, Gilles Simon, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and Michael Llodra.

For 2023, the Open 13 Provence’s prize money reaches an all-time high of €707,510, which equates to $746,341 and £624,802 for a substantial 30% increase over 2022. However, it’s a mere 2% increase over 2019’s pre-pandemic prize money number.

In singles, the tournament’s winner will take home €107,610, while the runner-up will pocket €62,770. Those are an impressive 84% and 53% increase over 2022 prize numbers.

Doubles teams at the 2023 Open 13 Provence will earn €37,930 and €20,000 for the winner and runner-up, which equates to 83% and 26% increases versus 2022, respectively.

2023 Full Breakdown

The Open 13 Provence distributes prize money between singles, doubles, and qualifying rounds. For 2023, roughly 80% of prize money is distributed to singles, while the remaining 20% goes to the doubles event, which is typical at tennis tournaments.

Of course, we can break prize money down further by round, with players earning more as they progress through the tournament. For context, the singles winner will earn 14 times as much as a player who loses in the first round.

Below I’ve included how prize money for this tournament breaks down by round for singles and doubles. You can scroll left and right on the tables to view data for prior years. Please note that conversions to the US dollar and sterling pounds consider the exchange rate on the previous year’s final day.
